The rape of Greece and the rise of democratic socialism
The Greeks have voted. It looks like the #OXIs have it. When you've got nothing to lose, all you can do is tell your oppressors to FUCK OFF. That's what the Greeks did. And it was glorious.
Look at that face. That's the face of a man with a plan. A man who's planning to screw Europe. I couldn't be more proud to be Greek.
The Eurozone is non-elected, yet they preside over all of us. Alexis Tsipras was elected by his people to represent them and what he did was historic. He empowered them to decide their own future. Do they vote yes to more debt they can't afford, brutal austerity measures and no way out? Do they say no to the inhumane austerity forced onto them by the EU that features taxing the few profitable businesses and more disgustingly taxing food, medicine and energy in a country whose people are starving, unemployed and live in a crumbling infrastructure.
The Greeks bravely said no. The IMF and the Eurozone threw Tsipras (whose democratically elected) out of talks and his people have stood by him. These people aren't stupid, easily led people. They're politically engaged, high educated and extremely intellectual. They know what's going on and they know the consequences.
The country was being pushed further into third world conditions. The people were being strangled financially. And no solution was offered to help Greece out of financial dire straits. The IMF, ECB and EU were only interested in one thing, raping Greece.
This heralds the end to Germanic profiteering from Greek misery and the undemocratic Euro elite are shitting their pants. Let's face it, the only countries doing well out of the single currency are the French, the Germans and the Germanic-Franco countries. There's lots of scaremongering about the fate of countries who leave or renegotiate the terms of their membership, but lots of countries aren't part of it and they're doing really well. Switzerland is rich, Norway is one of the best places to live and Turkey was barely touched by financial crisis.
Hopefully, Greece will soon be free and can start competing in industry to find their feet. It won't be easy. It'll get harder before it gets any better, but they'll be in charge of their own country and they'll have their dignity. More importantly, the Greeks have restored proper democracy and trailblazing new-socialism.
Thank you Syriza for destroying a system from the inside. Thank you Yanis Varoufakis for rocking that ivory tower. Thank you Alexis Tsipras, the Hellenic Che Guevara.
