The 2017 snap General Election isn't about me

I think we can all agree, politics is a quagmire of shit at the moment. I thought it was bad during the coalition and Cameron years, but it's got worse. And more so for middle class, working people like me.
This might sound like woe-be-me in my brand new shaker kitchen with Belfast sink and De'Longhi appliances. I spent this morning shopping for a washing machine in John Lewis. And this afternoon, I'm heading to Central London for wine tasting.
I'm doing okay. I've got a good, well paid job in Covent Garden that I love. I own my own two bed house in central Reading. I drive a one year old car. I'm planning not one, but two long-haul holidays this year and scheduled builders to do overdue renovation work. On paper, I'm well off.
It's not always been like that. And just because I live like this, doesn't mean I'm not in debt. I'm half way through paying a £20k loan, I have a mortgage, an overdraft and I'm paying for the aforementioned kitchen and new windows through a payment plan. My car is on the never never, my shitty phone is four years old and we're just going into Brexit.
This election isn't about me. I pay taxes therefore I pay for everything, including things is disagree with. Despite paying for the state, either directly through taxes or indirectly through banks, I'm not given any help or even acknowledged in manifestos.
The Lib Dems want me to pay more taxes to compensate for woeful mismanagement of the NHS and government budgets. The Tories are taking us, willingly, into economic uncertainty.
We sit and laugh at the locals of Dibley, who their vicar describes as cacti, but not only are we those locals, we're run by them too. The lunatics have taken over the asylum.
