American guncrime is being led by example
There's been another tragic shooting in America. These are becoming a staple to the news. If it's not some vengeful outcast, it's the police.
just totted up the stats - between 2007 and 2013, just shy of a quarter of a million people in US lost their lives to #guncrime #shooting

The problem with gun control isn't a legislative one (no doubt the NRA are huge political benefactors and have people in power), but a cultural one. Guns are just as, if not more so, ubiquitous in Canada and their shootings are lower than the UK.
It's a cultural problem. America solves its problems with bloodshed. If you're into conspiracy theories - to me they make more sense than what we're told by politicians and the media - then the suspicion about the collapse of the twin towers, the missing plane at the Pentagon and building 7 point towards an inside job; paving the way for an illegal war in Afghanistan and Iraq as an act of revenge. This attitude, both open and clandestine, teaches people that if something doesn't go your way, if you want something or if you feel wronged you can solve it with a bullet.
If Obama wants to solve gun crime, he needs to lead by example. Pull the JSOC out of the Middle East, stop staging coups and installing puppet governments and most importantly, stop creating a climate of fear by setting up and funding terrorist factions like Al Qaeda and ISIS.
America's foreign policy isn't just liquidating countries it couldn't point to on a map, it's also shitting on its own doorstep.
