Single review of The Sea's Don't You Want Me

Cornwall-based duo cite MC5 and The Stooges as influences, unlike most bands citing influences and only to sound nothing like them, The Sea succeed where others fail.

Raw, garage-punk with vocals that sound like they have been lifted straight from a Hives album, waves the British punk flag high and proud. Not relying on studio wizardry, the pulsating drums and screeching guitar grab you by the ears and beats you to the floor while calling your mum names. The track lacks the catchiness it desperately needs, but in a time where most guitar music is middle of the road and forgettable; it’s refreshing to hear music with big hairy balls.

7/10
