Danish indie darlings Mew produce yet another stonker of an album
Sorry for using the word stonker, but it was the best adjective I could think of for describing this album.
Mew have been consistently making great albums since 2003. And yet they remain virtually unknown, which makes them all the more appealing.

Yes, I'm one of those. I like talking about music no one has heard of and watching obscure films that you need to read. I'm the one that sits in tea rooms reading Julian Barnes. So Mew has that poncey allure that's so irresistible for a wannabe intellectual like me.
Every album plays into that, with complex, ambient yet rocky track after multi-layered, alternative track. Their latest album +- is no exception. For 10 tracks you're taken on a journey you're not quite sure how to pigeon-hole. Their signature sound flows through every track perfectly.
Mew never fail to deliver. Much like Radiohead and Foals, they just go from strength to strength. Never getting tired, losing what makes them unique, yet never simply reproducing the same album time and time again.
Whatever Mew are doing, I hope they keep doing it. And I hope they keep it a secret.
